A friendly church serving the community of Rawdon.

Our commendable strengths, defined by congregation members and visitors are:
A warm welcoming church;
A beautiful church building;
A friendly, supportive congregation;
Good pastoral care;
A strong choral and musical tradition;

Following the  Licensing and Induction Service of Wednesday 5th July, we are delighted to welcome Revd. Rachel Ford as our the new Vicar of St Peter’s.  The appointment is a 0.5 and Rachel’s working week will be Monday to Wednesday and Sundays. We would ask parishioners to respect the privacy of Rachel’s non-employed days.

Current Service pattern at St Peter’s

8.00am Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer) and 10.00am Sung Parish Worship, the style of which will vary each week to include formal and less formal approaches.

Usually, on the second Sunday of the month at 6.30pm we have an OASIS service, a peaceful time for prayer, Christian meditation and more modern songs of worship. Please see our events page for up to date detail of our services and events.

St Peter’s Church also continues to offer fellowship and pastoral care in many ways and we are here for you at times of difficulty including supporting you through bereavement.

Apart from Saturdays and Mondays, the church is invariably open for private prayer from 10am to 3pm each day.

If you would like to have your child christened or to get married at St Peter’s we would be very happy to talk to you and support you in the planning of your celebration. For information about these and our other services, lease click on the links below.

“The parish of Rawdon: St Peter is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer – Jenny Wilson (safeguarding@rawdonstpeterschurch.co.uk)

The Diocese of Leeds’ safeguarding pages can be found at www.leeds.anglican.org/safeguarding2/ and contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.”

Giving to St Peter's

The work and upkeep of our church is reliant on people’s generosity, a generosity that is a hallmark of a lived-out faith and a testament to it.

We give to our church in a variety of ways, but with the closure of our building and our services during the pandemic giving was less than it normally would have been, so we really need your help now. If you are able to give more at this time, please visit our online donation page by clicking the link below
